...Who me?!

David Prakash is an Indian/Samoan artist who began his journey into the realm of street dance in 2012. During this time, he has explored multiple genres such as Popping, Hip Hop freestyle, House, and Krump.

In 2018, David co-founded ‘Jam On Toast’ with peer and close friend Oliver Le. JOT served as one of Naarms biggest community dance jams for people to come hang out and connect with new people.

David over the past 5 years has actively taught and facilitated classes across Naarm, Boorloo & Mparntwe. Honouring the lineage of Black American, LatinX & LGBTQI+ street dance pioneers, David aims to create spaces for curious minds to seek and find what it means to connect with one another in communal contexts.

At current, David acts as a facilitator, discussion starter and an evoker of change in his immediate spaces. Questioning the politics of the oppressive and colonial structures that we are experiencing has become high priority in a time of crisis, as collectively we grapple with the question of ‘what does it mean to make for the now?’.
